On the dynamic stability and efficiency of centrifugal pendulum vibration absorbers with rotating pendulums

The automotive industry uses centrifugal pendulum vibration absorbers (CPVAs) to reduce vibrations of the transmission system. These passive devices are made several masses oscillating along a given path relative rotor. This work addresses recent design CPVA, in which pendulums allowed rotate relatively dynamic stability this CPVA and shifting its operating point investigated paper. two aspects, crucial for an optimal reduction, assessed using analytic dynamical model based on perturbation method. results obtained allow propose new guidelines. validity is confirmed through comparison with numerical resolution system’s dynamics.
